Welcome from the Local Planning Committee

We are thrilled to be bringing NEERS back to Maine for the first time in 5 years! Many people know the town of Freeport as home of the LL Bean flagship store (open 24 hours a day!), but Freeport also offers access to a beautiful coastline where the Harraseeket River meets Casco Bay that’s just minutes from downtown. Recognized as "an estuary of national significance", Casco Bay supports rich and diverse marine life while providing wide-ranging economic & recreational opportunities. Favorite spots nearby for taking in Maine’s iconic rocky shoreline include Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary, and other local parks. Get a taste of Maine’s working waterfront by stopping at the South Freeport Town Wharf. Freeport offers the perfect combination of natural beauty, community, and accessibility, being situated right along I-295 and Route 1 and along the Amtrak Downeaster route. Our meeting venue, the Harraseeket Inn, is right in the heart of it all. We are proud to support this award-winning, locally-owned business. We’ll see you there!

Local Committee: Susan Adamowicz, Hilary Neckles, Sawyer Balint, Savannah Judge, Danielle Perry, Curtis Bohlen, Megan Tyrrell, Tristan Taber, Eliza Moore, Autumn Oczkowski, Nia Bartolucci, Holly Plaisted
